Contracted Recreation Programming

The TREK Program can plan and implement inclusive sports and recreation opportunities for your group. Northeast Passage currently runs several out-of-school recreation programs on a contract basis with various community organizations.

Ongoing after school programs are offered in eight week sessions and expose participants to a wide range of sports and games. This program can even be offered as a wheelchair sports program, with all participants playing in sports wheelchairs. This “reverse inclusion” model allows for even greater participation of youth with mobility impairments of any kind.

Northeast Passage can also offer activity specific programming for large or small groups. We have provided hiking, fishing, canoeing, ice skating, tubing, and even camping trips to organizations that serve families of youth with disabilities. These trips offer families a chance to engage in traditional recreation activities with one another without worrying about how to successfully include their child with a disability.

If you are interested in hosting a similar program or contracting NEP to run this program in your area, please contact Matt Frye, CTRS at Northeast Passage.
