Veteran Sports & Recreation
Join Northeast Passage for a group ride this summer! We are offering both paved trail and off-road options. You're welcome to bring your own cycle or use one of ours and all locations are appropriate for beginners to advanced riders - whether you're looking to rack up the miles or just looking for a leisurely ride, we hope to see you on the trail.
Cycling - Boscawen, NH
We have moved the location of our bi-weekly Thursday morning rides to the Northern Rail Trail in Boscawen (just north of Concord) to get these rides closer to you!! This is a beautiful trail that runs along the Merrimac River, through wooded areas and farmlands. Ride length will vary based on ability and we’ll try to ride as a group if possible. Hope you can join us!
Off Road Cycling - Auburn & Stratham, NH
Northeast Passage has several cycles that are suitable for off-road (or mountain bike) terrain. Take to the trails and get into the woods with these specialty rides. These rides are appropriate for all levels.
Dates: June 8 and August 10, Auburn, NH on the Rockingham Rail Trail and FOMBA trails. Option to ride around fire roads as well. Terrain is relatively flat (rail trail) to moderate, if you choose.
July 13, Stratham, NH: Ride along beautiful fields or wooded trails. Whether you're looking to explore or just looking for a leisurely ride, this is the event for you! Ride as much as you want in the time given.
Location: Auburn & Stratham, NH
All skill levels are welcome! Instruction and equipment will be provided by NEP and range coaches who are all USA Archery Certified Instructors.
We strongly recommend bringing your own equipment as NEP equipment will be limited to single person use. If you anticipate using one of our DrawLock bows, please state that in your registration as we are limiting two DrawLock archers per event.
Archery - Allenstown, NH
We will be on the archery range at Bear Brook State Park. The range is wheelchair accessible. There is also a Field Course that we can venture out on. Equipment and instruction provided.
Join us for a saltwater fishing series open to all Veterans. Northeast Passage now has saltwater fly rods available and Three Rivers Stocking Association volunteers will be able provide instruction (or feel free to bring your own fly or spinning gear).
Each outing we will be casting from shore and testing our skills along the Portsmouth, NH coast. During the 2019 season we filled every saltwater outing & had a large waitlist, so we are limiting Veterans to two June dates for registration and they may waitlist the others. This will help get more Veterans out on the water.
Northeast Passage has all-terrain beach wheelchairs to get individuals with mobility impairments down to the water, please contact us regarding any accessibility concerns.
**Licenses: Veterans are required to obtain their own saltwater fishing license ($11) prior to the event and can do so at: http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/marine/index.html. You must have a license purchased ahead of time to legally fish.
Instruction and equipment (kayak, PFD, and paddle) provided. All paddling events are guided by ACA Certified Paddling Instructors. Please review and acknowledge you meet these Essential Eligibility Criteria prior to registration.
Personal Flotation Device (PFD) required to be worn at all times while on the water.
If you have your own equipment, we encourage you to bring it.
