Volunteering through Northeast Passage allows you to be involved in an activity you love, while sharing that enthusiasm and knowledge with others.
At Northeast Passage, a volunteer is defined as any unpaid student, intern or community member assisting with program facilitation and support.
Northeast Passage is seeking volunteers that:
- Are passionate about a specific program or sport and have experience you would like to share.
- Are interested in Northeast Passage’s mission for personal, professional or academic reasons.
- Want to give back.
Northeast Passage has a variety of volunteer opportunities available in our Adaptive Sports & Recreation Programs. Opportunities vary by sport, schedule, commitment level and location/facility.
Our professional staff is responsible for planning and implementing programs. Volunteers will generally assist with the management of the event including setup and breakdown, basic instruction and ensuring participant’s safety. Some positions require a certain level of expertise or training and are reserved for volunteers that meet the criteria.
Volunteers are an integral part of our team and are vital to the success of our programs.
FILL OUT THE APPLICATION TO GET STARTED: Your application will be reviewed and once approved, you will receive access to our Volunteer Calendar to begin signing up for opportunities that match your interests, skills and schedule. You will receive emails periodically when new schedules are released or if we have specific needs to fill. You will also be added to our online training platform, Canvas, for access to our online resources and sport-specific information. We can’t wait to see you soon!

UNH STUDENTS:
As a program of the University of New Hampshire, we provide volunteer spots for students as a learning opportunity.
If you are a UNH student looking to fulfill academic service requirements in our Adaptive Sports & Recreation Programs, please follow the volunteer steps outlined on this page including filling out the application and then signing up for the events you plan to attend. This includes field-based Practicums in our Adaptive Sports & Recreation programs.
Please be sure to confirm any service hour requirements, sign up accordingly to meet your requirements and communicate with the NEP supervisor at each event to ensure proper completion.
GROUPS:
At this time, we do not offer opportunities for groups of volunteers (corporate groups, fraternities, sororities, sports teams, Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts, etc).

If you don’t feel you can make the commitment to volunteer, we are always looking for people to share our message and be an ambassador for Northeast Passage. Join the team by:
- Sharing our content on social media
- Raising money through one of our fundraising challenges
- Attending one of our fundraising events or making a donation to support our programs
- Cheering on our competitive sports teams at home (or away) tournaments
- Spreading the word about our services
